Self Portrait of a Lifeless Artist
This poignant collection of four photographs offers a glimpse into the narrative of my creative journey during my time in Iran—an environment marred by heavy control and censorship. "Self Portrait of a Lifeless Artist in 2020" tells a tale of the bold risks I faced with every stroke of my artistic expression. The shadows of pressure and potential problems, not only for myself but also for the gallery, loomed large over each creation. In this series, I strive to share the essence of my courageous artistry amidst adversity, where every piece crafted within Iran was a precarious endeavor, an uncertain journey that could have marked the end of my artistic path. These photographs speak of the resilience and determination that characterized my art-making in a challenging environment, telling the story of creation against the backdrop of risk and uncertainty.
